In some cases, security needs to be handled in an undercover fashion. Depending on the situation, a security officer in plain clothes may be a more appropriate security measure than a Uniformed Security Officer. Often these situations are in Executive Protection or celebrity and dignitary escort scenarios.

In addition to protection scenarios, plain clothes officers are highly effective at loss prevention, thefts, internal investigations and threat mitigation. Plain clothes officers can also work in conjunction with Uniformed Security Officers in situations such as crowd control, undercover operations and retail security.
